Lambhús is a place for nature lovers seeking tranquility and unspoiled nature. Our guests enjoy a spectacular view to Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. In addition they will find rich birdlife, hardy but beautiful plants and a wide geological diversity.

Lambhús accommodation is both suitable for couples and small groups. Families will find a playground for children and guests are also welcome to say hello to our geese, ducks and our friendly dog, Máni.

 

Our guests enjoy peaceful surroundings and a spectacular view to the Vatnajökull glacier. There is a multitude of hiking possibilities in the area. On the hiking path from Lambhús to the glacier (10 km) there are wonderful opportunities for bird watching and unique motives for photographers.

A variety of recreational activities is offered in the vicinity of Lambhús, including a farm zoo, restaurants which offer regional dishes, hot tubs with geothermal water, glacier tours on snow scooters, boat tours on a glacier lagoon and numerous hiking possibilities in the Vatnajökull national park. In the fishing town Höfn travellers will find restaurants, caffees, swimming pool, folk museum, rock collection, glacier exhibition, supermarket and more.

We, the couple Steinvör Almí Haraldsdóttir and Gunnar Gunnarsson opened Lambhús accommodation in June 2010.

Gunnar is a carpenter. He build the cottages and takes care of repairs.

Steinvör is a qualified tour-guide . She takes care of the reception of guests. Steinvör speaks English, French and German.
